Bye Windows 7 .. Microsoft officially stopped support for it
Microsoft officially suspended technical support for Windows 7 on Tuesday, to stop the system from receiving updates.
Windows 7 is one of the most used computer operating systems in the world, according to StatCounter analyzes statistics, about 26.7% of computer users still depend on it, while about 65% of them depend on Windows 10.
It should be noted that Microsoft launched Windows 7 on October 22, 2009, and this system became after a period of more operating system supported by computer users, as it provided many features at the time, including support for handwriting, the ability to support multi-core processors, and support Advanced graphics processors.
The experts at Microsoft pointed out that the company’s decision to abandon Windows 7 came because of the age of this system, which reached 10 years. During the past century, many new programs appeared, and types of electronic attacks developed with them, and Windows 7 became unable to protect users from these dangers.
On Tuesday, Microsoft released the latest set of security updates for individuals who use Windows 7, as this system will no longer receive any security or non-security updates from Microsoft, as it is now a system not supported by the company.
The latest update to Windows 7 applies to all its versions or versions, and users can download and install the latest patches by searching for updates in the control panel, and the installation program can also be obtained without an Internet connection by downloading the package from the Microsoft Updates website.
Windows 7 is still used on about 40% of user devices, despite the lapse of nine years since its launch, according to statistics at the end of last year.
It is worth noting that the period of technical support for Windows 7 officially ended in 2012 with the launch of Windows 7, but due to the widespread spread of the system, I decided to extend his life cycle for an additional five years, after which it continued to send security updates only, and now it is time for his retirement only for companies that pay for security updates and technical support.
Windows 7 devices will need to upgrade to Windows 10 in order to obtain ongoing support, updates and corrections from Microsoft after January 14.
